That pretty much sums it up. I know it's kind of early ;) but some insight would be appreciated. I fell in LOVE with UChicago but I also like Cornell, am interested in NYU, Rice, and George Washington University

Very good ecs, GPA and test score(Math and Math IIC scores can improve though)! Keep it up and you will be a strong contestant stats wise!
But it’s a bit early for chances, UChicago focuses on your essays A LOT, the prompts for one of the supplement essays tend to be very intellectual and philosophical, generally, I believe you need to be a great writer to have a great chance at UChicago!

Nice. You’re very clearly qualified.

All that I have to say is these two:

Be yourself.
Understand your dream school’s culture, and reflect on how you and the culture MATCH.

Good luck! Be sure to check out UChicago’s forums, blogs and glance through some info to learn more about the culture. Also read through some essays to gain a rough understanding on the DIVERSITY and FREEDOM of what you can write. DO NOT use them as samples. Use them instead as a guide of what degree of freedom you can apply in your essays. Make sure to be introspective!

Ok I’m just kind of nervous about my ECs since I’m absolutely 100% terrible at sports and practically tone-deaf. It’s kind of overwhelming when you hear the kind of people that play piano at the white house ;)

Thanks!

^You shouldn’t worry about ECs. Your ECs are absolutely fine. It is what you make of your ECs that decide your future. Reflect on how your ECs show what type of personality you have.

Also as a pianist, I can assure you that, for most, playing the piano does not reflect intelligence whatsoever, but only reflects how much of your life you have used playing piano. Really…a composer who won awards is a much more prestigious thing to have than one who just plays pieces…

Anyways, the whole piano thing is just stupid. Sure, I like piano a lot. But I don’t think it’s something to brag about, even if you played at Carnegie Hall. It’s just…a piano.

I’m so jealous of your stats haha. I think you’re a competitive candidate for all those schools, I would just recommend some safety schools because those schools are so selective that even seemingly perfect students get rejected. Like someone else said, write OUTSTANDING essays and I think you’re in!! Chance my latest post please?
