Chance me for UChicago, Princeton, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, UVA, W&M

I already asked for opinions on the other two schools I applied to, but I figured I should hear my chances for all of them. I applied RD everywhere bc UCB was my top choice (should have applied EA…).

Essays:
Honestly, I think they’re all really good. Asked for a couple teachers to look at them and they elicited nothing but good feedback
Letters of Rec are outstanding from two teachers who know me quite well.
Personal: White female. OOS but born in CA.
Intended major is either English or Biology.
I think that’s it. Thanks!

Princeton’s average SAT is 1540, so getting in with a 1400 would be amazing luck. However, I guess nothing is truly impossible and you do have a great GPA and class rank…

A lot of people thought my essay was really good too, so I was hoping that would balance out my SAT score… we’ll see! The Princeton thread showed a lot of students getting admitted with 1400 and below actually, so I have hope  Thanks!!

The Princeton results thread only showed one person admitted with a score below 1500 and that person was a URM. I hope you’re right about your essay balancing out your SAT score. Best of luck!

You’ll get into William and Mary and UVA no trouble.
Maybe Vanderbilt.
Not the others.

Yeah, ditto the above. The people that get into places like Princeton, Uchic have what you have in class rank, GPA, essays, and then national level ECs and 1500+ SATs. That’s by no means a criticism of you, and I’m sure you’re aware they’re extreme reaches. So, slim to nil chances at both of those. You’ll likely get in to William and Mary, and I’d say probably for UVA… it is very hard OOS though.

I’d put vandy and northwestern in roughly the same boat. I’d say at either of them, you’ve got around a 20-30% chance of admission. They’re both top top flight, but not quite the princeton/Uchic tier. You’ve got a shot here, I’m 50/50 on whether you get into one of them.

Good luck regardless, chance me back?

Thank you to everyone who replied! I’m in-state for W&M and UVA, so I feel good about those two. My top top choice is UCB, so maybe I’ll be lucky there. I’m aware that these schools are high reaches, but I figured there was nothing to lose in applying. Thanks again!

I say you have a pretty good chance for all the schools but, your SAT score for Northwestern is below average and I think for UChicago too not sure. But, I have a friends who was 11/600 with a 1380 and got in on need based scholarship so it all just depends on your essays from here. but, you have a great chance! good luck and chance me back please

Thank you!

You seem like a really well0rounded person! Everyone has said it already, but I think your SAT is pretty low. a 1400 is equal to approx 1900 on old sat… William and Mary for sure, and probably UVA since you’re in state. Not sure about the rest… I’m sure your extracurriculars will help but I think if you want to be northwestern/princeton/uchi level, you have to have some state/national recognition (ex: a publication of a paper, being nationally ranked for debate, etc-- it seems as if many of your EC"s are only recognized within your school/region). Best of luck tho! It’s a super unpredictable process so I wouldn’t be surprised if you were admitted
