i’m applying to Uchicago EA and Rice ED (will also be applying to Rice/Baylor med program), and if i dont get into rice i’ll be applying to JH, georgetown, northwestern, dartmouth, MIT, U penn, and some local safety schools.
i’m planning on going into biomolecular engineering and then medical school.
GPA: 3.87/4.0
Rank: top 25% currently, but i anticipate that i’ll be at least top 15-20% after ranks are renewed this summer (super competitive, large public school)
SAT: 2240 (710 M, 740 CR, 790 W)
Going to take SAT II (math 1, math 2, bio E) and ACT in fall (anticipate at least a 32 based on practice test scores)
APs taken so far: World history (5), English lang, Spanish Lang, Physics I, Human geo
Senior schedule: AP Chem, AP English Lit, AP Calc AB, student leadership honors, academic decathlon honors, research honors, possibly AP bio
Recs and essays should be strong
Asian, not applying for FA, but a possible hook is that im a female going into engineering ?
summer activities: taking AP macro, AP gov, writing workshop at Rice, pre-health program at another university, freshman mentorship program
Volunteering: ~200 hours

i’m really nervous, especially about Rice, so please let me know if you have any tips on how i can increase my chances of getting in. from my school (which is in close proximity to rice) , typically 7 or so seniors matriculate into Rice, and they’re usually from about the top 15%.
