Assuming very good essays (haven't submitted them but my counselor is proud of them)
and one very very great rec from a teacher i've known in out of school
and another very great rec from a teacher who's my club's advisory
my counselor rec is very personal because even though I go to a large school, I'm one of the few kids who spends a lot of time with her

Income: Under 60k
Ethnicity: you probably guessed already
Hooks: none
I'm a girl...

what are my chances at:

Brown
Yale
UChicago
UPenn
Princeton
GU
GW
NYU
Brown
Amherst
AU
Tufts

Is this a pretty good list, or should I include more match/safety or even reaches

Great stats! However, one can never be sure about Yale, Princeton, Brown, UPenn and UChicago simply because they reject several qualified applicants every year.

Brown - Reach
Yale - High Reach
UChicago - I suppose Low Reach, but it is getting more Ivy every year
UPenn - Reach
Princeton - High Reach
NYU - High Match/Low REach
Amherst - High Match/Low Reach I guess
Tufts - Match

While your ECs are excellent, they seem a bit laundry list-y. The adcom will wonder how you can possibly have 8 legitimate leadership positions. By having so many, you kind of water down the impact of each one, and it looks like you just hunted for officership spots for college apps. You’ll have to combat this possible perception by focusing your ECs in your essays. Focus on the personal aspects of your major ECs to make it clear that they mean something to you.

Princeton and Yale will be very high reaches. Uchicago and Penn are reaches. Brown, Georgetown, and Amherst are possible, low reaches. Probably in at NYU, Tufts, and AU. GW should be an in, but they have a nasty reputation for waitlisting poor kids.

Are you doing CAS or Wharton for Penn? I’d say your chances for Wharton are about the same as Princeton and Yale. If CAS, then probably higher than Chicago or Brown but worse than Tufts.

Nihilus is right about the perception of your activities, they start to look kind of superficial so make sure you can give the appearance of someone genuine rather than someone app obsessed. Other than that your stats are great but like everyone has said, a lot of these schools are wildcards. I don’t necessarily think any of them are out of your reach but by nature most will be reaches.

Good stats and ECs, but UChicago, Brown, Yale, UPenn, and Princeton are all reaches for everyone. I think you’ve got great chances everywhere else though!

Nihilus, how can i make myself look less like a list of activities when I’ve only got two essays at most? i don’t want to turn my essay into a resume either. do you think going deep into one extracurricular or two will imply that I am at about equally passionate in all the clubs i’m part of- which i am.
Thanks!
