Okay so I'm only a sophomore in high school right now but it's never too early to palm for college right? Well anyways, next year's classes for me look like this:
Honors Chemistry
Honors English 3
Honors Spanish 4
Honors Algebra 2
US History AP
And electives are Medical related classes

I have a 4.0 Weighted GPA and a 3.8 unweighted. ECs include cheer and softball. I'm trying out for my school's varsity cheer team in a few weeks as well. I volunteer occasionally and I am looking for a long term volunteer organization. I want to become an OB GYN and I want to get into a great and reputable medical program.

If anyone has advice on how I can amp up my application before it's too late (lol before senior year) that'd be awesome!

Thankss in advance!

*plan for college haha

Just the fact that youre taking alg 2 next year… prob should give up on stanford and princeton

Ditto.

You have like one AP, no mention of test scores, no mention of class rank, and your ECs are limited to softball/cheering (it’s a different story if you have a chance of being recruited).
I’d go as far as saying that if you continue on this path, even UCLA’s a bit of an overly ambitious leap.

Typical - Stanford is my dream school - hopeful. Your stats are not even close to Stanford/Princeton requirements…you need to go undergrad before med school. It took me a long time to figure out that Stanford is NOT even close to easy to get into. EVERYONE wants to be a doctor and go to Stanford. Only a select few get in. Unless you bring up the GPA, score high on ACT/SAT, obtain leadership positions in clubs/VARSITY sports, or get some sort of research published, good luck getting in…

Your classes aren’t rigorous enough, you don’t have enough EC’s, and your GPA is a little low. You should set your sights a little lower. Good Luck!

Stanford and Princeton: no chance
UCLA: reach
UCI: high match or low reach
