i was just rejected from ucsd. i was wondering what my chances are of making it into uci instead, under the studio art major. (i live in CA. asian-american. not the first generation to go to college. from a pretty competitive public high school; ranked #25 in class out of 600-ish seniors)

best SAT I:
CR- 630
math- 700
writing- 680
(total: 2010)

sat II (best 2):
lit- 660
math level 2- 700

the thing is, i've taken mostly average classes these 4 years, with the exception of honors english 1-4, ap english 5-8, and ap spanish 7/8.

other classes to note: took informal geometry freshman year (stupid decision.. to explain would be to make excuses); didn't take physics (instead took physiology); not taking calc this year (no math at all); also taking psychology this year

i only got one B (soph year english, 1st sem) during these years.

extracurriculars:
csf (4 years, general member)
my school's magazine staff (3 years; 1 yr also as historian)
senior honor society (only 16 members)
math club (3 years, general member)
performed in ensembles for 2 school concerts (guitar)

the only honors/awards i have are: top 10 students (freshman year); top physiology student (junior year)

i haven't taken any college classes and i don't have work experience.

i also have a decent amount (well that's relative) of community service... working on rose parade floats, helping out at our local festivals, and rebuilding together.

is it hopeless? (be gentle..)
