For uci, I want to major in psychology and my alternate is criminology. Would I get into UCI with my alternate major? Not many people want to major in criminology... right?

My grades aren’t that good… my SAT score is 1760… but I had many awards and activites and volunteer (and work) experience. Chance me?

Hello, I want to know what are my chances of making it to UC irvine (my dream school) My weighted gpa is 3.02 (or something around there) and my SAT score is 1760. The reason why my gpa was so low was because I suffered from depression junior year (I got the worst grades that year… usually I get As and Bs) However, I didn’t mention that in my personal statement because we hired someone to give us advice on our personal statement and they said to not write about that… So instead, I wrote about my dad’s death for my personal statement. I wrote about how he was killed because he was rushing to get home from work and crossed the road and a car hit him. He died shortly after… I was eight at the time. I remember I saw him dead at the hospital, and my mother crying… and my younger sister… Anyways, I talked about how I took care of my younger sister ever since I was young because my mom would be so sad about my father’s death that she would be out of the house often. And for the second personal statement I wrote about how I enjoyed helping other people at this services for brain injury place. Overall, I want the UCs to know that I am a generally caring person and I want to help others also. However, I don’t think my major relates to my personal statement at all…

I also have a decent amount of extra activities… however, I don’t think any of them PARTICULARLY stand out. Anyways, my awards are from cross-country (winning varsity B…), local art contest, and speech and debate state quals finalist (2). My extra activities are art (for 9th,10th,11th), cross country (10), and ballet (9,10). I also have a decent amount of community service… over 100… and I have work experience (from one job) and I took MANY elective classes (so right now I have twice as much credits that are required)

bump… can somebody answer this?
