Hey, i am an intl student wondering whether my gpa and extracurriculars decides I have a high chance to get in or not.
Studying at a community college at Southern California
Major: Civil Engineering( Structural Engineering in UCSD)
Will complete IGETC by the end of fall 2016
Overall GPA: 3.88
UC GPA:3.87
Will complete every single required classes for admission (Calc series (1,2,3), Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, 2 English classes, Biology foundation 1 (mollecular, evolution), Physics series, tons of GE classes (30 semester units alone), 2 general chemistry classes with lab)
College Academic: Dean’s list for 3 consecutive semesters, got a scholarship for International students (only 2 positions offered per year), member or Phi Thetta Kappa Honor society
College EC: Inter Club Council Representative for my International Student Club, a club officer for my club, volunteered 100+ hours in a public elementary school
High School Academic back in my country: top 5 in my class for 4 consecutive years (8 semesters), top 15 in my high school board examinations (out of 100 students), 6 A+ and 3 A in my O level cambridge university intl examinations, won science olympiad 2 times (2nd and 3rd place) in my schoolwide competition
High School EC: Active piano learner for 4 consecutive years (4 years of lesson) with 1 international exam and 3 local examinations, swimming lesson member for 7 years.
Personal essays: i will try my best to write a good one( essays are subjective).
Things i will write: -purpose of studying 10000 miles away from home ( to get a good education and come back with useful knowledge.
- The obstacles when I started Cali Community college career when i just turned 16 ( adaptation from high school to college, becoming more self sufficient, managing time, become independent)
- qualities that A college environment should have based on my view
- qualities of leadership college students should have
