PERSONAL STATEMENT:
Explained personal circumstances as to why my GPA was not in the 4.0 range, including experiencing physical abuse at home, busy taking care of family, and unfortunately I was sexually abused as a child for 4 years, which is why sometimes I go through depression and I have a hard time concentrating in class. However I did highlight resiliency in my PS as one of my qualities.

I did receive a supplemental review from UCLA, but I want to know I did everything in my power to get in, which is why I want to appeal their admissions decision.

I think your stats are just too far off UCLAs averages for an appeal to work.

Really? Oh okay then, thank you for your input.
Would your suggestion be to just give up on the appeal as a whole?

Unless you do CC to UCLA.

Never give up! Ask yourself this…What do you have to lose by appealing? Your appeal is just one more letter you have to write. If you still don’t get in, then you know you used all of your resources. My son currently attends UCLA. A few of his friends have been admitted after they appealed. It’s worth a shot! I would recommend attaching any documents that support your circumstances.
