I am a rising senior and I was curious about my chances!

UW GPA: 4.00, W GPA: 4.53 (took pretty much all honor and ap classes)
ACT: 33 (one sitting with 11 on essay): 35 on English, 32 on math, 32 on science, 33 on reading
Class rank: 25/787 at a very competitive high school

Your numbers seem fine. However you mentioned you’re middle class. Are you able to afford 60k a year? Fees goes up by a couple hundred every year typically as well. No financial aid for oos students unfortunately. Every year thousands of oos students get in only to find out that the numbers just don’t work out financially because they expect Aid like other oos schools like psi and Alabama

Middle class in Texas means something else in California.

$65K per year with no funding is hefty.

Remember that the UC’s are public schools that receive their majority funding from the State of California. There is no money from the state to fund your fees.

Will your parents pay a quarter of a million dollars for your education?

I mean upper middle class, so we’re making well into six digits a year, but the UC’s OOS are still way more expensive than UT Austin would be for me. We can technically pay for it, but my parents are understandably reluctant to pay such a high premium.
