Second one:
Wrote how recent earthquake in Nepal killed 6 of my close family members and forced me to stay home to take care of siblings(my dad traveled there). This explained 5 Bs I got first semester of junior year. I overcame my depression and adapted to my circumstances getting all As next semester and realized new found desired to pursue governmental sciences because a lot of the negative effects of the earthquake could’ve been avoided but we’re not because of political corruption.
Third one: wrote about how I solved a internal club conflict in model UN.

Not legacy
Both of my parents have gone to college

CHANCE ME AS STRICTLY AND HARSHLY AS POSSIBLE PLS!!!

Edit: I am instate

Good chances for mid tier UCs but not for UCLA/UCB.

Is there any way you think I can improve my application this summer for a better chance to UCLA or UCB?

As you should know, your problem is with your GPA and that is the one thing which needs “time” to build up and unfortunately you are out of that!
However, you still should apply and may be an adcom looks beyond that and pays more attention to your other stats which are fine.

My GPA would’ve been 3.93 UW and 4.8 weighted if I had gotten all As last semester. With UCLA’s holistic admissions approach and the notion that I have all As this semester with 5 AP classes and will get all As first semester of senior year with 5-6 AP classes, does this increase my chances and ‘makeup’ for my GPA in any way?

Get those As and roll the dice. You have nothing to lose, but, as uclaparent9 said, you’ll need to hope that someone in admissions notices the circumstances.

Would have, should have, could have, your GPA is what it is unless you take some summer courses that boost it up a bit. You look like a strong applicant, so your GPA may not be an issue if you are strong in the other areas.

What is your UC GPA? UCB/UCLA also use uncapped weighted UC GPA.

Apply to all the schools and see what happens. You may be surprised and Good Luck.

UCB and UCLA are reaches, but you never know. I got accepted to UC Berkeley (College of L&S) this year with a 4.0 UC GPA and a 33 ACT. The circumstances that you had to deal with are extremely compelling, so you probably have a better chance at Berkeley and LA than I did when I applied.

85/500 would not put you in the top 9 percent lol. Which one is right? Top 9% or 85/500? That would put you in the top 17%.

I’m in ELC programs which only recruits the top 9% of students in a high school for uc acceptance plus many students in my grade share the same ranking do I figured I was in the ‘9 percent’ constructed by uc’s
