For a little background, I’m a white/hispanic male in a public school in SoCal. Well off economically. Looking to major in some sort of business with a minor in math.

Stats:
UW GPA: 3.85
W GPA: 4.7
ACT: 33
Math II: 780
Chem: 780
Bio: 740
Going to finish with 14 AP’s + Calc III at local CC (8 AP soph + junior, not allowed AP’s freshman year)
School doesn’t show students rank anymore but I’m top 20/~600

EC’s:
Chair of a city run non-profit, been recognized by state senate and written about in county magazine. Had several articles published in city magazine writing about this as well. Get good experience essentially running a business by calculating expenses and getting sponsorships from local businesses/advertising myself in town square.

Part of a community service organization for high school boys in my area. Had lots of leadership opportunities and tons of hands on volunteer work through this group

Michigan is a reach. Definitely apply early action with compelling essays to put yourself in the best position.

You are a competitive applicant. Your stats and ECs are good. Perhaps try to get more leadership in club activities, as it seems like you only have one major EC. Write amazing essays and you could get accepted to any of these schools

I don’t think Michigan is a terribly high reach for op, apart from it being technically a reach for most oos applicants. I frankly think op has a very good shot at Michigan. Jmo and Go Blue!
