Hi college confidential!
I’m a transfer student from a CCC finishing up my last full-time semester at SBCC. My dream is to get into UCLA 
Major: Sociology
GPA: 3.75 (hopefully will be bumped up to 3.79 by the end of fall; lowest grade is a B)
CCC: Santa Barbara City College
Major Prep: A- in Intro Soc, A in stats, taking the research soc class online through SMC in the spring (not offered at SBCC, and is noted to not be offered at a lot of community colleges so it is not held against you if you don’t complete it, but I figured if I took it online through SMC it would increase my chances. Could anyone confirm this?)
IGETC: Already done
ADT in Communication Studies
Essays: I’m just beginning to write them, but I’m pretty good at writing and have multiple people who will be reviewing them prior to submission.
ECs: Working 15-20 hour weeks, communication internship for a congresswoman, PTK, president’s honor roll for both 13-14’ and 14-14’, graduated from SBCC in the spring with honors and 3 AAs after only 2 years, community service recognition at high school graduation, AP Scholar with Honor award, lots of volunteering in high school (didn’t have the time in college)
APs: US History (5), English Lang (4), English Lit (3), Psychology (3 w/ never taking the AP psych class hahaha), didn’t pass Chemistry (2)
I was told by a UCLA admissions officer to include high school ECs if I had empty spaces.
Although my major is sociology, I have taken the majority of the biology pre-requisites because I intend on going to physical therapy graduate school and thus my GPA is lower than what it would have been if I had only taken sociology major courses, which I will of course address in my essay. Actually, would the essay be the best place to address this or the additional comments section? I’m slightly confused on the best way to utilize the comments section.
I finished major prep and IGETC in the spring, I’m only still attending school to finish up some of the physical therapy school requirements. I have 80ish units, all from CCC.
I’m also applying to Berkeley with sociology, and UCSB, UCSD, UCI, SDSU, SLO, and CSULB with communication. I TAGed UCSB.
I was UC eligible from high school, I’m not sure if this is something to include. Also my SAT scores were immediately input from when I applied to UCs in high school (got accepted to some, couldn’t afford them), should I delete them? I got a 1940.
