Chance me for UCLA

Hey guys, I’ve applied to UCLA and I was wondering if I have anywhere near a shot. A while ago I was requested to provide supplemental information, which apparently, not everyone is selected for. Anyways, here are my stats:

Ethnicity/Race: Native American (50% - Assiniboine and Gros Ventre from Ft. Belknap, MT)

GPA: 4.1 W GPA

SAT: 1330 (I didn’t study for the SAT like I should have)

Coursework: International Baccalaureate Diploma Program
HLs:

  • Biology HL
  • English A: Literature HL
  • European History HL
    SLs:
  • Math SL
  • Chemistry SL (my school doesn’t offer HL)
  • Spanish B SL
*I haven’t taken any exams yet, I take them this upcoming may

EC:

  • National Honor Society
  • FBLA Member
  • ~100+ hours of community service
Note: I never really got too involved at my school, I’m the only Native there and I’ve always been pretty shy… I feel like I have pretty admirable/respectable aspirations though.

I applied to UCLA for Biochemistry and I plan to pursue medicine in the future.

UCs cannot take race into consideration, but they are allowed to accept students based on socioeconomic factors.

Be aware that UCs do not give any aid to OOS stidents. Can you afford UCLA and do you have in-state safeties?

Pre-med at a UC is a risky proposition since many of them deflate grades.

What is your UC Capped weighted and Fully weighted UC GPA? https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

Your SAT is below the 25th percentile and your GPA is on the low side as an OOS applicant for UCLA.

You should consider UCLA a Reach school due to their low acceptance rate and the huge # of very qualified applicants.

2018 Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19 capped weighted and not major specific:
UCLA: 9%

25th-75th percentile for OOS admits (UC GPA fully weighted): 4.42-4.83
25th-75th percentile for SAT composite: 1440-1540

Yes, I’ve been accepted to Colorado School of Mines and CU Boulder. UCLA was my reach school
