Any more details needed before chancing me, just ask.

Why are your grades and courses so different than what you posted in January? What grade are you in now?

Does smell a little trollish, but if this is close to real -- Sophomore grades pretty much put UCLA out of reach by just crunching the numbers.

Good thing about UCs is that they don't consider 9th grade when computing GPA. Your sophomore year is pretty spotty, though.

If you have some excuse for lame early grades, be sure to figure out how to explain in that 3rd essay.

As for chances for UCLA, look at this scattergram for UCLA and be the judge:

<a href="http://www.arcadiachineseparents.org/plots/2008/UCLA.png%5B/url%5D">http://www.arcadiachineseparents.org/plots/2008/UCLA.png</a></p>

GPA under 3.5 (unweighted) seems to be the kiss of death. 3.7+ in your SAT range looks good.

but don't the UC's calculate their own GPA? The GPA in that graph represents the unweighted GPA however...

I am a senior. I thought I was going to take those subjects. But this is the real summary of my grades. The reason my grades were bad were because my grandpa died and my mom got really sick and needed surgery and was in the hospital for a long time.
