Chance me for UCONN fall transfer?

I currently attend Penn State and I'm hoping to transfer to UCONN next year (fall 2012). This will be my sophomore year. I was accepted to UCONN last year but not the business school. My high school GPA was a 3.52 UW and my SATs were 1940. I currently have 12 credits at UCONN from AP classes. Do you think I could get in as a transfer? I am also in state.

I am actually really surprised that you did not get accepted into the UConn Business School as a freshmen applicant. You certainty had the statistics and being instate working for you. I do not really know much about transferring into the Business program but I would imagine that as long as you have a good GPA at PSU and have taken the required classes for the UConn Business School then you should have a good chance. How are you grades so far at PSU? Are you currently in Smeal? If so you would probably be better off there unless money is an issue.

I am currently in Smeal, the only class I am struggling with is MATH 110 (Calc) but even that I have a C in. The rest of my classes I have As an Bs.

That isnt too bad then. So why do you want to leave Penn State? I do not think that you should have too much of a problem getting accepted to UConn as a transfer. I read on their website that they accept around 1200 transfers yearly. As I stated before check with UConn to make sure that the classes you are taking will be transferable and meet the general requirements for the business school. I believe you will have needed to take Micro and Macro Econ, Calc, Stat, and Accounting but you will have till the end of sophomore year to complete them. To transfer into the Business school the website says you need a minimum of a 3.0 GPA but I would aim for around a 3.5. If you reason for transferring has nothing to do with finances(ability to pay), than really consider the opportunities that you would be leaving behind at Smeal.
