I am a junior in high school.
My GPA when applying will be in the 2.9-3.2 range. (I had a difficult freshman year, but my GPA for junior year has been 3.7)
I will be taking AP Euro and AP English next year, and I've already taken a handful of honor courses.
My SAT score is 1510, and I plan on taking the test again for higher scores.
My ECs are:
Theater
Student Council
Team Green (recycling club)
Across the River (newspaper)
Ballet at a private company
TAG (drug awareness)
Heritage Club (homestay in France)
Multiple college writing conferences
And many national writing publications.

Writing is my passion and I expect my essay will give the colleges a good impression of me.
I'm also an out of state student.

Your SATs are very low. You will need to retake them to have a significant chance. If you can explain an upward trend in GPA, then you may be ok. A 2.9 is very different than a 3.2, however.

I would say UConn is a reach for you. Retake your sat and I think you will need to get at around a 2000 to have a chance because of your gpa if it’s a 2.9.

@invader71- actually i got in to uconn with a 2.9 and a 1740. So i wouldn’t think you’d have to get a 2000 to get in but maybe around the 1800s would be good.

Please make a new post instead of bumping old ones.

That being said, your post is really too vague to offer any advice. If you could include more details about your academic/extracurricular history, what you want to major in and why, we might be able to help. Look up some sample chance threads and see what people normally include.
