<p>I'm Hispanic born in US. My patents were first generation college students both are teachers now. I'm from California also. I applied to UCI, UCLA, San Diego State, and Cal Poly Slo. All the school I applied as a civil engineer major. I was wondering what my chances are to get in to these colleges?</p>

UCLA - reach… unless youre one of those random URMs that UCLA seems to random accept every year :wink:
San Diego State - low reach
Cal Poly Slo - low reach</p>

<p>good GPA, low SAT…try to get your SAT up! apply for safeties…stanislaus, fresno state, sonoma state, etc…</p>

<p>Yeah I got into Fresno state already. Since I’m from the valley. I also applied for two full rides there. I can’t take any more SAT’s so I’m stuck with that. What u mean by UMR’s?</p>

<p>I’m hispanic as well (Mexican) and I think that you have a good chance of getting into UCI, and San Diego State. Cal Poly is just a bit harder to get into, and UCLA, a solid personal statement should help in getting you in (since you’re an underrepresented minority)! Note, however, that UCLA likes diversity, they want to admit somebody that stands out. Someone that is unique.</p>

<p>A Math SAT score of 590 is just too low to be accepted as an engineering major at the UCs or CSUs.</p>

<p>That’s what I was worried about but I got into Fresno state already don’t they have decent engineering program?</p>
