<p>Hello. I am a rising senior currently going to a California Distinguished School. I am also pursuing a IB diploma. I am 1st Generation Indian and want to be a neurosurgeon, which would be Health Science Major, I think. So Please Chance me for all UC's and if possible, then University of Michigan.

<p>I don't which extracurriculars to use for you guys to chance me, so Im putting most of them.
300+ volunteer hours. including a local hospital and a prestigious one in the nation.
This includes places such as American Cancer Society, American Heart Association. American Lung Association. I also went to help poor people in India but not through Peace Corps

Event organizer for Chess club 4 yrs

Volunteered for 4 yrs
Reading to kids and peer tutoring and I might do Academic Decathlon next year. 4 yrs

<p>I think you have decent chances for all of the UCs including UCLA and Berkeley. Your gpa and ECs could be better, but overall your whole application looks pretty solid.</p>

<p>Oh and I forgot to mention these:</p>

<p>I have an Internship in the summer.
I also won awards in art in local fairs. I have bunch of them for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. I am also in National Arts Honor Society. I took the most rigorous courses.</p>

<p>My rank should be top 12 or 10% too out of 486 students. And my internship is at a local CSU.

<p>Ok. So which would you call safeties and matches? I know its hard to get into the Berkeley and LA. I most want Davis, LA, or Irvine.</p>

<p>I would say you are good to go for Davis and Irvine. UCLA has become impossible to get into these last few years. People with great stats have been rejected so although you do have a chance I wouldn’t bank on it.</p>

<p>What should I do to improve my chances? Is it my GPA or exc’s. I have done other stuff for exc’s too like newspaper and extra classes. I will try to get more leadership positions if possible and might start my own clubs too.</p>

<p>You have good chances at UC SD, UCLA, Cal…really most of the UC’s. Be sure to include Davis as sort of a safety. </p>

<p>Essays make a difference, be sure and spend some time on them.</p>
