Chance me for UCs (namely UC Berkeley and UCLA)?

<p>NOTE: I am currently a junior, I am not sure what I will do in terms of extracurriculars yet for senior year</p>

Ethnicity: East Asian
Location: Washington
Noncompetitive Large Public School, but will have competition for UCs like Berkeley and UCLA, USC, etc
GPA: 3.8 UW (downward trend from freshman and sophomore year, did bad 1st semester of junior year)
SAT: 2060 Composite
SAT II: Planning on taking Math II and Biology
Class Rank: Top 15%</p>

<p>Extracurriculars: Key Club (secretary), NHS, Swim Team, Tennis Team, TeenCERT (training program for volunteer emergency response), Orchestra (2nd chair violin), Hand bell Choir since 2nd grade, volunteer program for teaching students violin, approximately 300-400 hours of volunteer service</p>

<p>Awards: AP Scholar with Distinction, MIP Orchestra, MVP Orchestra, Scholar Athlete, Academic Achievement (top 20%) awards, various other school awards, QuestBridge College Prep Scholar</p>

<p>Other info: I speak Cantonese, low income student (qualified for free/reduced lunch), sort of first-generation (brother went to university but never got job, parents have very low education level)</p>

<p>Could you please give me advice on which QuestBridge partner schools would be the best fit for me?

<p>Berkeley and UCLA were exceptionally competitive this year. UCLA had over 99,000 applicants, blowing its previous record out of the water. I know students with 4.0s rejected from one or both. I for one was lucky. I had a 3.93 UW and 2210 and was accepted into both, but Berkeley for Spring. If you improve your SAT score to maybe 2150+ and get really strong grades this semester, you may stand a chance. Good luck.</p>
