Some more things about me:
-Prospective major(s): History and/or French
-Received C in Algebra 4 Sophomore year, re-took Junior year and got a B (am terrible at math)
-I will not qualify for financial aid, and am not disadvantaged in any way
-Not first-generation
-I'm not very interesting EC-wise, but I am passionate about languages, history, etc.

Schools:
-UCLA/Cal
-UCSD
-UCSB
-UC Irvine
-Davis maybe
-NYU
-USC (my dad got his PhD here, but IDK if this makes me a legacy)
-CSU Long Beach
-SDSU

I’d say in at the UCs, but Berkeley & UCLA might be a reach. Almost definitely in SDSU and CSU Long Beach. USC and NYU… both toss-ups IMO. Only thing really hurting for those two schools is being an overrepresented ethnicity and the lack of ECs. Otherwise you should be fine.

And thanks BaddyCaddy… lol I know that I basically have no chance at Berkeley and LA, but I’ll probably still apply just for the heck of it – same app as the other UCs.

-UCLA/Cal low reach
-UCSD in
-UCSB in
-UC Irvine in
-Davis in
-NYU in
-USC (my dad got his PhD here, but IDK if this makes me a legacy) reach
-CSU Long Beach in
-SDSU in
also uci ucsb and ucd are pretty much same level, ranking wise. y apply to all 3?

You should definitely get into the UC’s if you go to a top school in California and are top 10% in your class. Try to get some leadership positions in your EC’s! NYU may be a reach, but I think you have a great shot at the others.

@92jjxx: All three as kind of a back-up, because I’m sure I’ll get into at least one. Plus, like I said with Cal/UCLA – they all have the same application

@mburns: What SAT range do you think would be okay? Like another 100 points? Or more?
