I've taken ALL honors classes available. 5 weighted classes in jr year. 3 APs.

My sr year schedule:
AP English
AP Physics B
AP Psychology
AP Calc BC

Gov/Econ

Extracurriculars:

VP of student-run non-profit org. We give out micro loans to student entrepreneurs locally. It's a microfinance institution. Takes up a lot of time.

VP of a school club. This club takes used cooking oil from restaurants, converts it to biofuel, and then gets a percentage of profit from a company. That profit goes towards the school. This can mean departments, clubs, students, etc. Raise a LOT of money. (I designed the website for this club as well)

Secretary (11th grade) and Scriptwriter (12th grade) of school's TV journalism outlet.

Secretary of Photography club.

100+ hours at a retirement center

130+ hours at summer camp for being a counselor/photographer

Taken a Intro to Programming class online Stanford's EPGY program.

Sorry for the longness but I wanted to go into detail. My GPA isn't that great, but I feel like I make up for it in my ECs/test scores.

The schools:
UCB
UCLA
UCSD
UCD
UCI
USC

Thanks!

might want to retake your SAT II’s in bio/chem, other than that you have a great chance

Thanks kieran0696. My main thing there is that UCs don’t look at Sat2s anymore so I’m wondering if it’s actually worth it in the long run.

The only thing holding you back is your GPA…

Hey Seattlebulldog, do you think it’s holding me back enough that I won’t be able to get into schools like UCSD or UCD? I’m actually not too keen on going to UCB (complicated).

SAT II’s are def considered, just not required. you have a solid chance if you raise your gpa.

Might want to retake one of the two weaker SAT II’s. Even though not required by UC’s anymore, UCB and UCLA strongly recommend them. GPA is low but is made up for with strong SAT I and ACT. Should get into UCSD, UCI, UCD, and USC. High match for UCLA and low reach for UCB.

DEFINITELY in to all of them except maybe UCLA, just because I’m kind of jaded with that place since basically everyone I know got rejected by it with above 4.0 GPAs and great SAT scores. but i’d still say high match.

Well for UCSD, GPA is very important factor, but I think your SAT Scores make up for that

Thanks everyone. I’m definitely going to work on 1st. sem sr grades to get that gpa as high as possible.

I had similar test scores and GPA (UC GPA was 3.8). Accepted to Berk spring admit, UCLA, UCSD. Just some perspective.

USC you’ll 100 % make. They dig all that extracurricular bs more than grades to be honest.

Thanks for the replies everyone!
