SPECIAL SKILLS

I think you’re doing a disservice to yourself by getting chanced. It’s pointless to do this because you know you’d be in at all these schools if admissions was predictable at UCLA UCB and USC. The fact of the matter is that it’s not predictable when those three institutions have acceptance rates below 30 percent.

You’re in at San Diego and Irvine.

Reason why you’re not looking(or are you) at privates like the Claremont schools?(if you want to stay in california) or looking at out of state schools that would offer you really good merit scholarships?

3.86uw and 2120, right? And 9 AP classes.

I’d say:

UCI (safety)
UCSD (match)
UCLA (reach)
UCB (big reach)
USC (reach)

unfortunately UCLA has so many applicants that it’s a flip of a coin for you with your stats, same with Cal. And at USC they, like a lot of hi-end privates, look for a focus and passion. so if you have a particular area of interest/passion have that come through in your app. But I know USC has higher SAT stats than Cal now but your gpa with that many AP classes should be fine.

Good Luck!

Claremont colleges are too expensive, so I’m probably not going to apply there.

Cal is 30k
USC is 53k
what’s Claremont? 45K

higher education is expensive! Warren Buffet paid for his Columbia education by working and he says today there are only two things he’ll invest in, 1) well run companies and 2) education!

hey, was your PSAT high, maybe you could get a scholarship at USC, I believe half tuition for National Merit Scholars, maybe more.

Nope my PSAT was just an average 200.

If your willing to pay for USC, no reason not to pay for claremont schools if you can get in. Occidental will throw you merit money.

UCI, - very good chance
UCSD, - very good chance
UCLA, - decent
UCB, - decent
USC, - reach
