Chance me for UC's, Will Chance Back!

Hello everyone. Just to verify, I WILL CHANCE BACK if you chance me.
Looking for: UCSB, Irivne, Davis, UCSD, UCLA, UCB, USC, NYU
Major:Computer Science+Business combinations.

School information: Overpopulated public school, we do not have any honors courses, and the maximum amount of AP courses we are allowed to take in sophmore year is 1, junior year is 3, and senior year is 3, although overpopulation frequenly makes it so students (like me) only get 2 APs in their junior year.

Essays: Looking mighty great, lets say they have that "special touch".
Letters of Rec: Two great ones from APUSH and APGOV teachers, one outside rec from my mentor/employer

Extra Curriculars
-Lifetime CSF Member
-Basketball league coaching-300+hours (3 Years)
-Two week program at Cisco TV Studios for Video Production
-Assistant Program Manager in a golf organization-incharge of rosters, check-in desks, etc, submitted a business proposal to enhance the program, responsible for hundreds of youth.

Work Experience

-Unpaid internship with executive director of the golf organization: learning marketting techniques, various new computer softwares, etc. This is where I am getting my third letter of rec from.

Thank you so much!

I hate chancing. I find it rather pointless as people will end up applying where they want to in the end because it would be rather foolish to not apply somewhere because a random person on the internet told you not to.

That being said, I like to give feedback on applications, so wherever you do apply, you have the best chance possible. I may seem rude, but I’d rather be seen as a jerk than you getting denied when you could have gotten accepted.

-You need to make sure colleges know the AP situation, both on the restrictions with rules and the restrictions with scheduling. This will murder you if you don’t explain it in your app. Either have a teacher explain it in a LoR, your counselor write it (but I know he/she is probably too busy), or you can include it in your resume or any space possible. You need to find a place however.

-I hope ranking goes off weighted. 10% is way better than 12%.

-Try to get a 32 ACT

-Good sat tests. Send them all.

-Everyone says their essay is special. Have people look your over. I’ll read them if you want.

-You shouldn’t get 2 recs from the same subject. However, your school is overpopulated… maybe have them explain that in their letter? Not sure.

-Why does CSF matter? I see it all the time and it is just for scholarships. Why do colleges care? I’m not from cali so I may be missing something.

-Focus ECs on your technology interest, listing these things first and making sure colleges know you can bring THIS to their college. Here is a quote I give people who are developing focus:
"You need focus. What do I mean by focus? Focus is something that much of your ECs revolved around, and something that you were successful at. Most importantly however, focus is what college admissions think you will bring to the college. Now your focus doesn’t have to be unique; mine is mathematics research and engineering. Of course I backed this up (Siemens comp participant, submitted paper to journal, presentation at a conference at a college, tutor in engineering teams at elementary schools (engineering tutor of the state 2x), and competing at an international college engineering competition.

Of course yours doesn’t need to be this extensive, but you need to tell colleges why they want you to come to the school. Once you find your focus, write your R

Berkeley - low reach

Thanks guys, and Bump!

I would say that you would need to get your ACT score up for definitely Berkley and USC

Bump! And Thanks!

Bump Please D:

i would say your test scores are good for the subject tests, acts REALLY need to come up. ecs are a little lacking which is a problem for schools like berkley and usc because that’s what will set you apart but thats just what I think. I’m sure you’ll make your essays great but with lower gpa they really need to stand out and grab the reader’s attention. other than that I think youre pretty good! chance back?

Bumpy Bump!

BumpBumpBump

very strong chances for all except NYU and USC.
bring the ACT up to 32 and you’re in.

Chance me

I think your chances at most of the UCs you listed are solid. NYU is good too. I’d say get the ACT up even if it’s just 31 and you’d be pretty fine

Chance me back ! :c http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1408833-wanted-kind-people-willing-chance-me-ucs-privates.html</a></p>

make sure you explain your situation!!! it looks as though you have made the most with what you have, so be sure to note this.

your ECs are good but could be stronger in my view. show your passion in them on your app!

[chance me please!](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1409730-chance-me-top-schools-thanks.html)

Haha I’m a Laker fan! Anyways, your GPA is right on track, SAT/ACT could be a tiny bit low for UCB/UCLA but should be more than enough for the others. I would say:

UCB-low reach
UCLA-high match
UCSD-match
UCD/UCI/UCSB-low match
UCSC/UCM/UCR-safeties

Chance me back please!

NYU- Stein:Reach the rest of the school: borderline match/highmatch
