Chance me for UCs

So I'm wondering my chances of getting into UCs such as UCSD, UCI, and UCD (dream school).

Im a Junior attending a california high school. some of the information i post hasn't actually happened yet but it will at the end of the school year (such as final UC GPA).

UC GPA: 3.86 (3.6 or so UW)
SAT1: Hoping for a 2000-2100
APs (haven't taken tests yet): Biology, English Lang., Psychology

Expected Senior Year Course Load:
AP Physics B
AP Calculus AB
AP English Lit.
AP Gov/Econ (maybe)
Photography

ECs (nothing too amazing):
-4 years of seminary for my church every morning (basically an additional class every morning before i even go to school)
-Key Club for 2 years
-About 300 hours of community service
-Played volleyball for 2 years on high school team
-Possibly getting Eagle Scout

I also had some pretty difficult circumstances that affected me in my first 2 years of high school (they still do, but to a lesser degree). I have had a HUGE change in the direction of my grades since freshman year. For example, I had a 1.9 GPA freshman year and I got a 4.0 GPA last semester. This is because of the many disabilities I have: significant bilateral hearing loss (more than 50%, so I missed many things in class), nearsightedness (started in 7th grade but eye doctors said my vision was fine so i assumed it was normal to not be able to see the board), and, of course, ADD predominantly inattentive type. I plan to talk about these in my essays. Many people I know (parents, teachers, etc) say I'm very good at writing personal narratives (essays In general, but especially good at personal narratives), so I hope write a very personal and effective essay.

Thank you to everyone who read!

match for UCSD UCI and UCD with a 1900. considering the fact that you havn’t even started SAT, you would have to work very hard for a 2000 2100. you can hope but its not always gonna come true. the one thing thatll make you unique is being an EAGLe scout

You have a great chance at all 3 of the UC’s you listed but ones like UCLA or UCSB would be a reach

@futurefocused I actually have started SAT prep. I’ve been preparing for the past few months and I took a practice test and got a 2050, I’m hoping I can get something like that on the real test though. Thank you very much for your input though, both of you, I really do appreciate it.

Any more? :)

Your stats are extremely similar to mine!
I would say
UCI:Match
UC Davis: Match
UCLA: Reach
UCSD: High Match

Look at my post if you can!!

Anyone else want to chance me? i’ll give you a rainbow cupcake :)

Whoa, we’re really quite similar in terms of stats and dream schools. I’d probably say match for all of these (UCI, UCSB, UCD, etc.) except maybe a high match for UCSD, but if you end up getting your Eagle Scout title, that would make you perhaps even a match. Your ECs are actually really really good already!

If you get 2000+ on your SAT, UCSD would become a match. UCLA would become a low reach / reach (they’re been reaaaally picky this past year!), and so would UCB. Best of luck!

(oh and sorry again about that post mishap ;_; i really didn’t mean to! :D)

oh wow, i have bilateral hearing loss too, and i am wearing hearing aids. haha first person on CC who shares the same problems i do lol. yea you should detail them well in your essay, and honestly i think you will do well in those colleges except maybe UCSD.

@cindaay haha thanks for your input. yeah UCSD is kinda like my “true dream school” while UCD is my “realistic dream school”. and haha its fine we all get inspired from somewhere, right?

@tigerash omg thats so awesome to finally meet someone else whose going through the same thing as me! I want hearing aids so badly but I just CANT deal with the behind the ear ones. I wear glasses so they get in the way and I just dont like having stuff on my ear. And yeah I know UCSD is kinda a reach for me :/

UCSB: match
UCSC: match
UCD: high match
UCI: high match/low reach
UCSD: low reach
UCLA: low reach/reach
UCB: reach

I think if you score well on the SAT, maintain good grades through senior year (since your course load seems pretty rigorous), and continue with all of the ECs, you’ll have a good chance with college admissions! UCs don’t really look too closely at much else besides grades and numerical stuff like that, so you should really prep hard for that SAT to make sure you get a solid score on it. And don’t fall into the trap of senioritis-- it’s gonna be tempting, but think about how good it’ll feel when you open that email from Davis saying “You’re in!!!”

Anyone else? I chance back!!

Anyone else please? :)

Chance me pl0x
