• live in the bay area

BUMP, if anyone can give me some advice that’d be great (:

UCLA: reach
UCSB: high match/low reach

Since affirmative action was struck down in CA, your chances don’t change if you are an URM. Therefore, UCLA is reach, and UCSB is high match/low reach. I live in the Bay Area too and there is also only 1% African American population in my school as well. However, we don’t have the APs that you are taking right now, so I don’t think we’re in the same high school.

REACHES FOR BOTH
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1595598-santa-clara-early-action-worried.html

Unfortunately, both are reaches. The average UC GPA at UCLA is 4.3.

LA- reach
SB- low reach

Idk if it changes anything but I sent my 27 ACT and the income of my family is 80,000 over 4 years… Do those 2 things change anything?

UCLA-very high reach
SB- high match

Thanks guys! Would like some more advice!

Ha, you are similar to me. This is actually really funny.

UCLA- Like you said, URM helps ALOT more than people realize (can be unfair, I know). So, I think high match.

UCSB- Match

@mountlover96 ahahaha yeah i guess you’re bound to find someone similar to you, I mean after all there are millions of high school students in the world.

I think la is kind of a reach

BUMP, still would like some more responses!

Let me guess, Redwood highschool? Or more like tam?
