Majoring in either Political Science or English!

Your UC GPA and SAT is about average for UCD/UCI, a little low for UCSD. Your best chances would be at UCI, followed by UCD and then UCSD. No comment on NYU since I am not as familar with NY schools versus CA schools. Your EC’s look good. Work on your essays this summer and make them shine. Good Luck.

Davis and UCSD waitlisted a lot of kids with better stats than you this year (think 3.9 uw/ 34 or 35 ACT). Many of them were trying for the impacted majors, though (CS and bio). Go look at the threads at each of those schools for who was accepted/denied/waitlisted. If the UC budget is as bad next year you will definitely want a backup plan. (I guess in CC terminology, I’d say you are low reach for at least Davis and San Diego). If you could bring your GPA up a little higher by getting all A’s this semester and then retake either ACT or SAT to bring those up a bit, you’d be in a better position.

(not trying to be all doom and gloom. You have a chance. But you need some safeties that you would be happy with).

BUMP!
