I'm a high school junior right now and I wasn't really too concerned with getting in (assumed I'd make it for sure) until I realize how ridiculously low my GPA actually is (I had straight A's in freshman year but got slammed by 6 B's sophomore year).

Unweighted GPA: 3.67
UC/Weighted GPA: 3.97
School rank: probably top 10%, definitely not top 5%

SAT 1: 2070

SATII:
Math 2: 800
Chem: 800

AP tests: (haven't taken any but I can guarantee these scores or higher)
AP English Lang: 4/5
AP Calc A/B: 5
AP Chem: 5
AP Comp Sci: 4/5 (class seems easy, but the AP test looks haaaaaaaard)

EC's:
Hospital Volunteering: 100+ hours
Peer Tutoring for volunteer hours: 75+ hours
School newspaper: webmaster (same as editor)

Key Club: webmaster (officer position) and 50+ hours

So, I'm asking a few things: Do I have a considerable chance at UCSD? If not, what schools should I be looking at?

And since I still have the summer to improve my app, I was wondering what would be the best way to spend it? I know that a summer class would be great to give my GPA a tiny boost, but what other things should I do?

Would a regular job (movie theater, retail, etc.) be helpful on an app? Would a paid/unpaid internship look good? How influential are those $2000 programs (medical research and Stanford's summer program and whatnot)?

And sorry if there's a post requirement or a certain amount of participation in the forum that's required to ask "chance me". I'm just really nervous about my GPA and I tried looking for a post requirement but found none ):

I'd be glad to give my opinion on someone else's stats too!
