Hey can you guys chance me for University of Florida/ UVA/ Virginia Tech/Georgia Tech
just want good advice on how to get in.
I will be applying early decision for this school

Race: Asian (Indian)

Income: 100k

gpa: 3.75 uw, 4.75 w (based on schools transcripts)

class rigor:
10 APs/ Advanced by end of Senior Year
12 Honors
Only allowed to take APs on Junior Year/Senior Year

Test Scores:
Not my best…
1370 (670 rw, 700 math)

ED for where - UVA? Va Tech ?

You can only ED one.

I assume the major is CS ?

Seems like you have a fine profile.

Advice on how to get in ? Good essays. Good recs. Keep up the good work otherwise. Add a safety.

I suspect Va Tech an in, UF possible. Other two no.

But you need a safety. Add a SUNY. NC State, Penn State may be two others.

Some data science is in CS. Add Purdue.

But you need a safety. You have targets and reaches. NC State a target. Purdue a target. Safety in econ. SUNY B or SB a safety.

I got into Penn State, UB, and Umaine already, these are all just my top choices

Va Tech maybe. UF probably not. UVA and GA Tech no realistic chance.

Do you mean you already applied early action to these schools? Or did you mean you will be applying regular decision?

I agree that UF, UVA, GATech are extreme reaches. VA Tech a more realistic reach. Congratulations on the acceptances you’ve received! Concentrate on that for now. :smiley:

Also USF
UCF and USF are rolling admission so sooner the better on applications

Also on the weighted GPA whenever I see a difference of a point or more between UW and W GPA be careful
Florida Universities add 1 point for AP/IB/AICE/DE and .5 for honors to recalculate GPA

You need to recalculate your GPA

If recalculated is a 4.5 it puts you right at 50% versus over the 75% you originally listed. Test scores right at 25% for UF fall admit. UF accepted 28% of applicants this year. For UF was your app completed by the November 1st deadline ( extended to Nov 7th I believe due to hurricane) then possible for Summer admit at UF. If you did not make the priority deadline unlikely for UF, as well for UVA and GT. VT you have a good chance.

You have some great choices already
