Hi! I’m currently a HS junior ranked 3/422 in my class with a 4.7 weighted GPA, weighted 4.0,
which should be close to a 5.0 by the end of my senior year. I have participated in Mu Alpha Theta and other academic clubs like Scholarbowl, as well as the National Honors Society. I take mixed AP, AICE, and Dual Enrollment classes but I haven’t taken the ACT or SAT yet, but I’m going to be taking them in the coming months. Any things I should improve upon before application season? Thank you for your time!
High ACT score and you will get in.
edit: I should mention that i’m a woman wanting to major in computer engineering, and i should be getting an internship over the summer as a part of the NAF academy, which is essentially just a certification that i’ve taken 4 technology courses that put me on a national registry type of deal. I did mine in the Academy of Information Technology.
You’re doing great. Other than the ACT/SAT, make sure you keep up on your EC’s, especially over the summer. That includes working, doing volunteer work, etc. Just stay active.
If you use twitter, I recommend you follow Dr. Juan Gilbert, who’s the chair of the CIS and Engineering department at UF("at"DrJuanGilbert).
Also…the CIS department has an active twitter account…"at"UFCISE
Gator88NE, thanks so much! I’ll definitely look into it!
