I like your chances!

Any thoughts on whether I should retake the ACT? I feel like a 31 should be sufficient, but wasn’t sure.

Also, I previously took the SAT once (1250) and ACT (28) as a baseline prior to doing any prep. These scores were sent to UF as well. Once I prepped, I got the 31 ACT score on my second try. Do you think the prior lower scores will count against me?

Thank you for your help.

Your ACT is around 70th percentile mark.
Your GPA is below average, though.

Since you can’t improve your GPA much before you apply, I’d definitely retake for a 32+
No, a 28 before won’t hurt you. At a school like UF with TONS of applications, they will just look at the highest score, I’m sure.

So yeah, your chances right now are plain good. Retake the ACT so your chances improve, because you may be rejected with your current stats.

Also, Alumni status holds no weight at UF.
Good job holding up a job while in high school. Maybe I take it back. You have pretty good chances. I would be somewhat surprised if you rejected, but it could still happen. Still, try to kill the ACT once more.

Thank you. I know my GPA is a bit low. On the plus side, it has increased every year (started slow freshman and first half of sophomore year). I’m taking two DE classes this summer, which may get it up a bit (4.34 ish).

I’m hoping the working, extracurriculars, leadership, test scores can compensate some for the GPA. Although I really don’t want to take the ACT again, maybe I’ll give it another shot to see if I can bring it up another point.

I feel you on the testing. I’m taking 6 APs and 2 subject tests May-June. RIP.

GPA is pretty relative to how other people do in your school. If everyone has 4.0 unweighted, then obviously 3.6 is bad. Obviously your school is pretty hard since you are top 10% with a 3.6, so I wouldn’t worry that much.
