depending on your essays

You’re very competitive for Ga State but UGA, not so much. UGA doesn’t consider race or class rank. Your SAT/ACT scores are on the low end, and your GPA, which is what counts the most, is on the low end as well.

What is your unweighted GPA? Your Freshman Index might be too low for a research university.

@imthecboolest kid

I’m sure they consider race…i mean…there not many blacks applying to UGA and they have to get them somewhere…mainly because of diversity and most blacks are afraid of the demographics…i think a URM has a higher chance of getting in then a white.

EDIT: My freshman index is a 2575 or something like that…so i even make it for GA Tech.

Freshman index is the lowest score legally allowed to be accepted based on the state’s classification for that school. Since GT, UGA, and GSU are all classified as research universities (along with the Medical College of Georgia), they all have the same minimum Freshman Index (2500).

You would need to be in the 3200+ to be competitive for GT, and 3050+ to be competitive for UGA. GSU is a little more flexible, but their average is usually around 2700.

As for a chance…

Your GPA is low for GSU (around bottom 25th percentile). Your Math is above average and CR is a little below average. Your ACT is right at average for GSU. Overall, it looks like a high match.

Your GPA is extremely low got UGA (around bottom 3%). Your Math is at the bottom 25th percentile, and your CR is below the 25th percentile. Your ACT is below the 25th percentile. Overall, it looks like a high reach.

@ant: I am 100% positive being a URM doesn’t put you on a higher pedestal in the admissions process. I advise you to go to this blog by an admissions officer at UGA for further information: [Advice about the UGA Admission Process](http://ugaadmissions.blogspot.com/)
