Would love to get some input on my chances for UIUC Comp Sci, thank you very much

UIUC Comp Sci is so easy. It’s essentially a guarantee for in-staters. Don’t sweat it!

^^ what??? I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say that lol. UIUC Comp Sci is one of the most competitive programs to get into there.

Anyways, your ACT is very good and grades and classes are okay. I would say you have a very good shot (70%ish?), but it is definitely not a guarantee.

Good luck!

Getting in to UIUC CS use to be easy (like a short half-decade ago). Since then, applications have skyrocketed and there has been a flood of applications from China.

Now, the admit rate in to CS in UIUC Engineering is in the single digits.

However, if you’re female or URM, you’re in. Otherwise, showing that you have done well in programming seems to help a lot. Otherwise, you need high stats or a terrific essay showing your passion for CS. That unweighted GPA may be worrying.
