Thanks in advance for your time! First College Confidential post so I hope it goes well (not sure if this is too much/too little information)

Applied Priority to UIUC for Math + Computer Science, EA to GT for Elec. Engineering, and ED to CMU for Math. OOS Applicant for both UIUC and GT

Indian Male (if it matters?)

Academic Stats:
Unweighted GPA: 3.78
Weighted GPA: 4.52
SAT I Superscore: 2250 (800 Math, 780 Writing, 670 CR- wish this was higher)
SAT II’s: Math II 800, Chem 800, US History 750
(No Class Rank, however my school district is very competitive)
APs: US History (4), Chem (4), Calc AB (5), Lang (4)
Classes taken Senior Year: AP US Gov and Comparative Politics, 4th year of Orchestra, AP Physics C, AP Statistics, Multivariable Calc (I skipped AP Calc BC), 4th year of English (Honors)
I’ve taken all Honors courses or higher throughout High School (except for World History, but my school doesn’t offer Honors World History). Also, 3 years of Spanish.

ECs:
Played Viola since 4th grade, some regional awards, travelled and performed in Gettysburg and Italy with my school Orchestra
Leader in my FIRST Robotics Team
Job: Little League Baseball/Softball Umpire (have ump’d up to Babe Ruth games)
School Math Honor Society
Debate Club (only for Fresh and Soph years)

Essays:
Common App- Strong
CMU Supps- Strong
GT Supps- Good
UIUC Essay- Decent

Teacher Recs- Good
Counselor Rec- Not sure

Excellent test scores and SAT II’s. A little lacking in EC’s, maybe leadership in Math Honor Society or Awards in Math. I would say high match for GT and UIUC, and match for ED Carnegie Mellon. Strong Essay’s will help tremendously, Good Luck!

Really strong for UIUC and GT. CMU would be difficult due to low(er) UW GPA and relatively few ECs, but you still have a good shot. My friend also applied ED to CMU, I hope you both get in!

Remember to apply to a safety as well. None of those three schools is close to a guaranteed “yes”. Good luck!

Thanks, I also applied to Virginia Tech (I’m pretty confident I’ll get in) as well as a state school that I’m not even worried about.
