I think u have a really solid shot cause ur stats r great and solid EC’s. So just wait it out and take that fat dub in one day

Yo thanks so much for the encouragement but i guess only time will tell!

Did you get in?

OP decisions should have been released. Did you get in?

Given that I had several friends hear back today, I would predict you got waitlisted but I am honestly curious about what the outcome was. Best of luck!

I got into Electrical Engineering EA with a much worse extracurricular profile than you (I’m also from a Cupertino High School), so I bet you got into at least EE. Anyways, a belated good luck with your decision! If you got in, congrats! If not, it’s fine, there’s still the UCs

YO guys sorry for the delay but I got in my second choice which was Electrical Engineering! Although not my first choice still im p hyped cause ee is like 4th according to US news. Another question I had tho: how easy would it be for me to switch to CE (or even CS as a matter of fact) because all of them are under the school of engineering. By the ways, congrats to all of you guys on your decisions!

@uncleran2 Switching to Computer Engineering will be infinitely easier than switching into Computer Science – UIUC knows that many hopeful Computer Science majors try to use Electrical and Computer Engineering as a backdoor into the school before trying to petition.

On the other hand, why not explore the hardware side a bit? EE is a lot of fun!

@mundyt actually i did a bit more research on ee and it sounds like a lotta fun! But i still love the software side of things so ima be really happy if i can squeeze my way into ce cause there is a lot of potential in that field (pun intended), both on the hardware and software aspects.

@uncleran2 You can still take CS classes as an EE major. It might be a bit harder to squeeze in, but I’m sure it’s more than possible

You have terrific stats as far as I’m concerned.

I’m a current UW student, I applied to UIUC last year and was admitted with a lower GPA (3.79 UW/4.07 W) and SAT (1400) than you but a similar course load and you have some great extracurriculars (I was a tutor in high school too!)

I was admitted as a premajor, not directly in anything yet.
