GPA: 3.3 UW
SAT: 2040 (730 CR, 620 M, 690 W)
Extracurriculars: 2 years SADD, 2 years Student Council, work 32 hours a week
Major: Nursing
Essay: pretty good, about a verbally abusive parent

All my classes are honors level. I am also taking AP English and AP Psych next year.

You’re doing pretty good so far. Even though you have honors classes, you should try and bring up your UW GPA.

Nursing is a pretty competitive major, though - a future classmate of mine was waitlisted (with a lower SAT/GPA), and a high school friend of mine is going there for nursing…although none of us are really sure how exactly she managed that…

Just curious, where else are you looking?

I’ve checked out Northeastern-LOVED IT. Checked out Umass Dartmouth, very unimpressed. I’m looking at Quinnipiac and Fairfield, and possiblely UCONN. I’ll probably look at Simmons at some point. I’m also open to suggestions.

Oh, Westfield state and salem state

Good choices! I also looked at UMass D when I was still interested in nursing - I was also unimpressed.

I think you could definitely get into Simmons for nursing (shameless plug, although I’m not a nursing major - about 1/3rd of my incoming class is, so you’ll have lots of friends and study buddies) and Salem State (as well as all the other schools listed). In my HS class of 200 there are 2 girls going to Fairfield for nursing and 2 girls going to Quinnipiac for it as well. I don’t know anything about Westfield’s program but everywhere you’re looking is excellent and it’s well-regarded for the state schools. Nursing at a Boston-area college is such a good decision and I wish you the best of luck!

Thank you so much!

I also just realized you posted a thread for Endicott. Can’t believe I neglected to mention them as well.

Bump. Would this be a safety or match?

It’s a low match; not quite a safety.
