I organize volunteer events at local schools for children with special needs, and in general, work to raise awareness of autism and those affected by it. Im extremely influenced by my older brother who has autism, Down syndrome, an mental retardation.

Essays: all touching and extremely well written. For my CommonApp essay, i wrote about an experience with my brother when he disabled his patella in Ecuador, and I had to carry him miles to reach a deserted hospital with no clean water and doctors to sum up a long and grueling story.

Additionally, I wrote about my endeavors leading up to making me create my school's Autism Youth Ambassadors club, and how I felt the need to take a leading role in educating my school and community on the prevalence of autism today, especially since i interact with someone who has autism everyday.
Teacher Recommendation #1: from my lacrosse coach, who has also been my health and gym teacher, and is currently my weight training teacher. He knows me more than any other teacher, and knows how tremendous my work ethic is. He's also aware of the sacrifices i take daily for the wellbeing of my disabled brother. There's no doubt that he wrote me an amazing recommendation.
Teacher Recommendation #2: from an English teacher. She's also my Autism club sponsor. She loves me as a student to say the least, and im sure she wrote me a stellar rec too.
Counselor Rec: should be great. He is aware of my environment at home, in which i must help my mom supervise my severely disabled brother daily.

What is your major? You have to realize chances of getting into a school depends heavily on your major.
Your SAT needs a little work, most UMBC kids (especially science majors) pretty much have over 2000 definitely. Same goes for UMCP. Since your GPA is not in the highest range (3.8-4.0), you need to raise either.
For UVA, it’s a far reach. Unless you live in Virginia, getting into UVA is a work.

Umbc doesn’t not have “most students getting a 2000” the 25/75 percentile are 1660/1960 respectively
