<p>Hi, I got deferred from the University of Michigan and was wondering if it seemed likely I'd get admitted or not (I hear its a tough application year, but I did get the "good" deferral letter" if that has any weight).
GPA 4.1 weighted (my school does partial weight) , 3.9 UW
SATs: 680 Reading, 660 Writing, 580 Math (I know thats lower than overage for math)
Out of State
Top 10% of my class. Rank: 19 out of 198
Extra curriculars: Red Cross Club 4 years, Cross Country 4 years, Indoor Track 4 years, Outdoor Track 4 years, Cross Country Captain, NHS, NHS officer, Volunteer at the local elementary school with disable children, Youth Group, Prayer leader on Service Trip, Lots of other local volunteer service, 3 coach's awards and 2 academic excellence awards. Plus I have been working 10 hours a week since this summer.
Just trying to see where I stand. thanks!</p>
<p>Hi Runningkid21,</p>
<p>It looks like you have a great background. Did you take any APs? The only weakness I see is one you already identified, your SAT math score. U of M’s 25th - 75th SAT math scores for admitted students range from 670 to 770. Maybe this link will spark some ideas to help you stand out with the admissions office: [Deferred</a> College Admission - What To Do If You Get Deferred for College Admission](<a href=“http://collegeapps.about.com/od/theartofgettingaccepted/tp/deferred.htm]Deferred”>What to Do When Your College Application Gets Deferred)</p>
<p>Best of luck to you!</p>
