So far I've been accepted to UIUC and Northeastern then deferred from Case Western. I'm now I'm gonna apply to Mich. Anyways thank you and I'll chance you back right away.

I think you will get into UMich even though I’m not as sure about there requirements. But I do think the amt of AP’s/Ib’s you took will beast the apps.

Thanks bud! good looks. I’m applying to LSA, but Mich already accepted 3 girls from my school into engineering lol. they aren’t going.

Btw for future chances. My school just in ED has already accepted 4 to MIT, 2 to UChicago, 1 to Princeton, 5 to Duke, 1 to Yale, 1 to Stanford, and 1 to Brown. So my GPA doesn’t really reflect much in my opinion. And I have an Upward Trend. My GPA will be higher when I Apply since I will have gotten 5 A’s and 2 B’s this Semester.

I’d say your GPA hurts you a little bit,
but your immense amount of IB’s and AP’s seems to help you (and all those EC’s!)
I’d say low-reach.
you have high chances, but is not definite.

I would agree with what other people are saying - the university will not just see numbers on a page, they’ll see a rigorous school and extremely impressive course load. You could have gone the easy route and gotten a 4.0 but you chose to challenge yourself and they will realize that. Only thing I see being a problem is your ACT score… Definitely could be higher for UMich. But I would say you definitely have a tangible chance at getting accepted… But don’t obsess over it because it’ll suck even more if you get rejected! (Easier said than done hahah)

Two of the main factors for Michigan are GPA and course rigor- the GPA is low, but if your GC puts it in the context of your school (perhaps there is grade deflation at your HS), then the GPA may not lok that bad. I would try to see if you could improve your ACT score (only in relation to the GPA). I would look to make sure that your recommendations aren’t just pretty good but stellar. Good luck.

Great rigor! ACT is solid, no worries with that. And gpa is a downfall, that’s very below the average. However like others have said, the rigor would help. You are good candidate. You’ll probably get in. Chance me?

your extracurricular activities are great and should definitely help you out even if your GPA isn’t as high as the average umich applicant. your ACT score should be around the target range too, so i think you can get in as a low reach/high match. good luck! :)

How’s your GPA within your high school context? Is there rank?
Your course-load is clearly rigorous at any high school; perhaps your Newsweek reputation carries weight, too. I think you have above-average chances for UMich RD. UIUC and NEU are great schools! Congratulations!

Your GPA is pretty low, but you do have lots of commitment to your ECs (sports, volunteer, debate). But, being Being OOS doesn’t help at all so i would say low reach/high match
