My recommendations are very strong as are my essays. I know my GPA is rather low but I was wondering if everything else would be able to balance it out. I'd greatly appreciate any help someone could give me.

UNC-CH for an out-of-stater is akin to getting into Duke. Your GPA is thus a little low.

Therefore UNC-CH is a reach.

Okay I understand. Would you say that it’s too far of a reach to even bother applying?

Maybe UNC-CH is not exactly as selective as Duke for out-of-staters but your ECs are like Duke applicants plus you have one URM hook so it’s reachable.

Thank you for all your help! I will definitely keep that in mind. Hopefully I will get some other perspectives as well.

If u look at college board UNC says 95% of the accepted people had a uw GPA of 3.75 or higher. This is the highest percent of any college that I’ve seen in my research. trust me the SAT and ACT numbers really dont mean anything to UNC. GPA is THE BIGGEST factor for addmission. saying ur oos is like saying, give up ur hopes. save $80.
