Taking SAT again this Saturday, so give me a good estimate of what I should aim for (minimum), for Cornell, uPenn, etc if my current is too low

So again the schools I’m asking about are:
UNC (in state)
NC State
Wake Forest
Cornell
uPenn
Georgetown

Thank you so much in advance for the help!!!

Your SAT and GPA are low for these schools. I’m also concerned about the rigor of your classes. These schools want to see you selected the most challenging classes available. You just started taking AP so that’s a red flag. However, your ECs are interesting and show real commitment and passion. That is very important. I would think you should be a match for in state NC State. The rest are reaches with Penn, Cornell and Georgetown being big reaches.

So what about the fact that I’m excelling in the APs I’m in currently? Also, my SAT is the exact average for UNC, and they have a 50% in state acceptance rate, and even higher just from my school.

its usually “safe” to be higher than the 50% average for everything…think of it like a see-saw…it’s extremely risky and could tip either way (one way for rejection and one way for acceptance). it is good though that you’re applying as an instate resident to UNC, maybe this is enough to tip your application in the right way!

Match for Jc state, from what you’ve said about unc I’d say a good shot and a reach for the other ones. Change me back on my most recent?
