<p>So my list of schools goes as follows applying from Florida and in addition I am Asian American </p>

The Ohio State</p>

<p>Just a rough list of my credentials for lack of time
IB Program
4.1 HPA/3.3 GPA
1870 composite SAT score
4 Varsity Letters
Captain of Varsity Volleyball 2 years
Volleyball 9-12
Soccer 10-12
JV Basketball 9
JV Football 9
200+ Hours of community service on top of 150 hours of CAS
Volunteered at a hospital all summer
Part time Job
3 Dual enrollment classes with A's in all 3
Senior Class Treasurer </p>

<p>I would be applying early decision to UNC Chapel Hill too to try and increase my chances of getting in. I know my GPA/HPA is low.</p>

<p>Your scores are a lot like mine are (Except for GPA), but your SATs are almost identical to my own. Your ECs are solid but leadership does lack a bit. Applying ED to UNC I believe will help you a bit but not to a huge extent. I’d say it’s a high reach for you but certainly not impossible! Beyond that your next most difficult I’d say is Ohio State and the chances increase from there! Good Luck!</p>

<p>I live in NC, and a lot of kids from my HS try to go to Chapel Hill. I’m not 100% on your chances judging from the (somewhat) low SAT’s and sub par GPA. NC State however, you could definitely get in there. Wake forest doesn’t look at SAT scores…but you also have a very “eh” GPA (not trying to be mean). For UF, you’d have to get your SAT up to compensate for your GPA…and even then, it’s a long shot. </p>

<p>I mean, IB is like an AP to my knowledge. So it helps, but it doesn’t make you “in” by any means. Tons of kids applying have dual enrollment. Can’t hurt ur chances at all. </p>

<p>I’d go for NC State as a safety if I was you.</p>

<p>I hate to be harsh, but your UNC chances are very low. UNC can only allow a small percentage of its accepted students to be OOS, so it is extremely competitive for out of state students. Almost like an ivy. Your scores and gpa are not up to par for UNC OOS.</p>

<p>^^^Call the OOA to check on that…I thought the same for UF and they said the admissions process is independent of state residency.</p>

<p>You’re chances are pretty low, sorry. You could always transfer in what I’m trying to do. Except you would likely get in after freshman year, unlike me. Good Luck!</p>

<p>My son is a Sophomore at Chapel Hill. We are in-state, Mom, Dad plus 2 uncles are alums (they say that doesn’t matter but it can’t hurt, ha!) His Super Score was 2060, his GPA 3.78 and we were nervously awaiting the Acceptance Day. If they are looking only at numbers, for OOS yours are low, I’m sorry. However, they always claim it’s “the total package” so I wish you luck.</p>

<p>If you’re in state you’re fine. Out of state its going to be tough. Carolina tries hard to put in states students into school first.</p>
