Chance me for University of Chicago?

If anybody could tell me my chances of being accepted to University of Chicago or give me any advice, it'd be much appreciated! Thanks :) ♥
I'm a Senior in high school, 17, female, white.

Steady 3.6-3.7 GPA all 3 years.

Took many Honors classes and 1 AP Class last (Junior) year, and taking 4 AP classes this year. Took/taking 4 years Math, 4 years English, 4 Foreign Language, 3 Science (not interested in science) and multiple Social Science classes each year.

Extra Curriculars/Clubs/Sports
9/10th Grade Tennis
9-12th Tri-M Music Honors Society
9/10th Symphonic Band
9-11th Jazz Ensemble
10th- Committee Member for Relay for Life

10-12th Campus Ministry
11th- Teacher's Assistant for Government Class
9-10th, 12th Forensics (Public Speaking/Acting) and won multiple awards
9-10th Student Ambassador
10th- Weekly Mentor for a program helping young girls
9th- In Pit Orchestra for school musical
9th-10th In School Play
Unfortunately I had to leave a few activities to start working Junior year.

Worked 2 jobs Junior year plus weekly babysitting, nannied over Summer, currently working 1 job this year plus babysitting.

Recently in addition to learning French, I've been learning Korean and can write in Hangul. This is part of the reason why I want to go to University of Chicago- I want to major in International Business and Minor in East Asian Studies, a major/minor that very few colleges have! I could then take even more in depth Korean language classes.

University of Chicago is my dream school, and I know my chances are slim- I'd just like to know how slim. :p

What are your test sores? You would need pretty great test scores, as your GPA is just okay.

Ah forgot to add test scores. I only took the ACT, and I only got a 27 on it unfortunately.

I’m sorry, Marlena, but UChicago is a super reach for you. Never say never when it comes to those top tier schools, but your chances are not that favorable, I don’t think. The GPA could be boosted, of course, but you should be going in with at least a 30 ACT.

That’s what I figured. It’s alright though, I don’t call it a dream school for nothin :stuck_out_tongue:

The middle 50% range (so 25% - 50%) for last year was 32 - 35. My kid got in with a 3.7 two years ago, but she had a 35 ACT and a 2380 SAT with a couple of 800 subject tests. They really value high test scores in admissions there. I think you would be best served to find some other colleges where you can combine international business and east Asian studies. I think a lot of larger state universities would have this combination.

very high reach. chance me back

low reach
