High guys, I’ve been lurking this board for a while and I figured I’d post one of these to stave off the anxiety of waiting to hear back I’m sure a lot of us are experiencing right about now. The two schools I have yet to hear back from are University of Michigan and Notre Dame, and I was curious what you guys thought my chances were. I’m located in Illinois if that matters.

ESSAYS
I’m very happy with the way my essays turned out. For the common app essay I was able to talk about how I dealt with/overcame an experience with General Anxiety Disorder and Depression earlier in my life. I also put a lot of time and thought into my Notre Dame essays and had them proofread by my English IV Honors Teacher. I didn’t put as much time into my Michigan essays because I didn’t think my chance of acceptance would really hinge on them, but I still eel that they were pretty good.
LETTER OF REC
For ND I got a letter off rec from my AP English Lit teacher, and I’ve heard nothing but good things from others who have had her write their letter of rec. For Michigan I got letters of rec from my APUSH teacher and my English II Honors teacher.
ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS
-I’m applying to these schools with an intended major of business/accounting
-I’m pretty confident in my chances for Michigan, as I was recently accepted into UW Madison and invited to apply to their business school for direct admit, I was also invited to an interview for the University of Illinois business honors program. I feel like these two schools/programs have similar admission requirements to Michigan’s
-I’m less confident about Notre Dame. My main concern is that my course load wasn’t as tough as it could be, especially earlier in high school. However, I am applying as a legacy because my mom went there, and I understand that that can help. I also have an uncle who went there and now works their in their finance department, and a cousin who graduated from there about a year ago and is now in thier Masters of Accountancy program. Over the summer I met with NDs admission counselor for my area and afterwards we exchanged several emails with him advising me on how to approach my senior year. For example, he recommended that I retake the ACT which allowed me to get it up to a 34 from a 33. I feel that the meeting went well and I’m hoping that might give me an extra boost.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts! If you want me to chance you as well I’d be happy to!
