yo I’m a senior and I just got accepted to UT on Friday and I wasn’t in top 10%, so it is possible. My recommendations would be to do really well on your SAT/ACT, which honestly was probably the reason why I got in (1500/33), and I also took 12 AP classes, so I would recommend you take more AP classes if you can.
Class rank is huge when it comes to admissions at UT. Try to grind for the rest of the year so that you can hopefully crack into the top 6%. Also try to get some more community service hours and leadership (as one of the three short answers asks about how you could be a leader at UT). Have you taken your SAT/ACT yet? If not, now is a great time to start practicing and taking practice tests. CNS looks for competitive math and science subscores
