Chance me for University of Washington- honest opinions only

You can chance me if you want, but I still have junior year to start and finish so it would be kind of vague.

I just recently finished 10th grade. Here is my info.

Asian-Male

I live in WA State.

GPA- 3.167 (unweighted) (School doesn't do uw/w)

Course highlights:
9th grade: honors science, French II (didn't offer AP this year)
10th grade: honors biology/chemistry (1 class), honors world history, honors language arts, French III (offered 1-2 AP courses, like 95% of 10th graders didn't take AP)
11th grade (future): I plan to take AP psychology, AP US, AP language, and possible French IV
12th grade (future): Kind of unclear right now, but: AP gov, AP Environmental Science, AP something

Extracurriculars:
1. One of the leaders/officer of a committee (we make produce events for my city)
2. in a club (I plan to take some sort of leadership this following year)
3. in a committee (stated earlier)
4. volunteer for Foodbank (a place that supports struggling families)
5. I play tennis, but not in any organization so I don't know if it counts.
6. overview= roughly 112 hours of community service (that is going to increase of course)

Awards:
1.I have been offered a trip to Washington D.C. for the Congressional Student Leadership Conference (2009) (I know a lot of people got offered it, but I just wanted to put it in just cause :P)
2. Most Likely to Succeed Award (2009)

Plans: Increase GPA to 3.4/3.5, More service hours, more leadership roles in clubs

So tell me if I'm on the right track... if it is extremely necessary for me to raise my GPA... what else should I do to ensure my acceptance to UW.

Thanks I'll chance back. Honest opinions only. Post link to your chance!

Any SAT/SAT II Scores?
& You are on a pretty good track if gpa continues to increase

mm… i’d say for now, just to focus on increasing your GPA and scoring around 1800s for the SATs.

i don’t live in Washington though, so i’m not 100% sure about what i’m saying, but this school accepts more of Washington residents than outer-state students :)

if you could, chance me too please!:

I think you’ll have a respectable chance assuming you get your GPA up to a 3.3ish, and get an 1850 or so on the SAT or a 27+ on the ACT.
It seems like they’re not as picky with Washington kids as they are with OOS kids.

yeah I have yet to take the SAT, and I have been wasting (lol) studying for it…ahh hopefully it’ll pay off. and yeah Im aiming 2050+ (weird number, I know). And from their impression,I think they dont care about ACTs

You’re right, CSLC doesn’t count. I think that if you raise your GPA though, you definitely have a shot at U of Washington.

@ lizz: you might want to make your own thread.

Chance me back? (: I’m in the same graduating year as you guys! Class of 11 ftw.

I’d say that UW might reject you. This is only because I was literally in your shoes a year ago. I had a 3.14 and even with a 4.0 my senior year my GPA never went to that 3.4 like I planned. Rather it got up to a 3.2/3.

Basically to get into UW you will need to kill the SATs, and manage to get a 4.0 your junior and senior year to get it to that desired 3.4 level.

Best of luck! Just make sure that a) you have killer essays and b) 1-2 backup schools.
