Like most schools PSU takes the unweighted GPA and applies their own weighting method based on the number of AP and honors courses. The weighted GPA on your high school transcript doesn’t mean that much because each school district applies different weighting metrics.

To be in at UP, you’d need that GPA to be converted to a weighted 3.9. Apply early (Sept-oct) and perhaps accept Summer session to increase your odds.

Expand more on that gpa conversion please?

You’d have to hope the PSU GPA system gives you some more points because you’re a low fringe right now, is basically what theyre saying.

@Etuck24 my academic core gpa is a 3.6 if that helps… I just don’t know what @MYOS1634 is saying about the 3.9

What I’m saying is that Admissions will recalculate your GPA by weighting APs and Honors in their own way. Yoru GPA won’t be 3.4 and it won’t be 4.5. The 7 AP’s will help you.
According to the bubble chart, in order for you to get in at UP, your lowest recalculated GPA should be 3.9. Anything below that and the combination is too low for UP admission. Grades 9-11 count, not senior grades.
You can affect the odds somewhat by applying as close to the Sept 1 date as possible and indicate you’d be willing to start in the summer - those are two easy ways in order to increase your odds and I’d do both if I were you, although applying in September may be enough - but do you want to take the risk?

@MYOS1634 what do you believe 7 ap’s will raise it up to if I got 2 A’s, 2 B+'s, and 3 B’s in them? They were AP bio, aice bio, ap english, apush, ap french, ap psych, ap drawing portfolio

Apply early, indicate you’re willing to start in the summer, write good essays, and you should be good to go, but don’t consider this a safety by any means.
