<p>You’re as qualified as the next guy for the Ivies. But just because you’re qualified doesn’t mean you’re going to get in. The sheer numbers of people who are qualified means they can pick and choose who they want from that list. It really is like winning the lottery. The Ivies are reaches for everybody.</p>
<p>That national award looks good and the internship certainly helps. If possible, take that SAT one more time, even though it’s pretty good as it is.</p>

<p>No, we’re just trying to tell you that there’s always an element of unpredictability at the Ivies. Unless you’re like the black male with a 2400 that we had a little while ago, nothing is guaranteed. Plenty of kids with your stats get rejected every year, and some get in. </p>
<p>Once you become a competitive applicant there’s hardly anything this forum can do to help you, chance thread or no.</p>
