I did research this past summer and did a research course at Penn two summers ago.

At a prestigious public high school in New York.

also what are my chances at

Northwestern
Cornell
Wash. U in St. Louis
University of Rochester
Carnegie Mellon (biology major)
Lehigh
Bucknell
Colgate
SUNY Binghamton
SUNY Geneseo

I think you academics and test results are just average for Upenn, and ECs are not really outstanding, however your eagle scout status certainly gives you a boost. But still, colleges would want to see more leadership aspects in your ECS.

Overall I think it is worth a shot for you

Academics are…not the strongest for Penn. ECs aren’t stellar, i guess Eagle Scout is good. But you’re applying ED which is gonna help you out. Because of that, you have a chance to pull it off. Other than that, Northwestern, Wash U, and Cornell are gonna be tough. Good luck though.

Applying ED will help a decent amount and your EC’s are strong. Academically is alright but could be better. Here is my opinion:

Northwestern (low reach)
Cornell (low reach)
Wash. U in St. Louis (low reach)
University of Rochester (match)
Carnegie Mellon (biology major) (low reach)
Lehigh (low match)
Bucknell (match)
Colgate (match)
SUNY Binghamton (match)
SUNY Geneseo (match)
UPENN (low reach)

goodluck!

Increase the SAT to be more competitive. It is somewhat low for the school you are applying to.

Most are either low matches or matches. Carnegie Mellon, Cornell, Northwestern and Upenn are all low/mid reaches. Try to bring up your SAT scores.

Good luck with your app process!

Your test scores are a little low for UPenn, but I think applying ED will definitely benefit you. I would just reallllly work on your essays to make sure you stand a fighting chance. I know a girl with similar stats, but she had two AMAZING essays (i.e. the supplement and common app) and is now a student there - on RD. So, good luck!

otherwise -

Northwestern (low reach)
Cornell (low reach)
Wash. U in St. Louis (High match/low reach)
University of Rochester (Match/low match)
Carnegie Mellon (biology major) (Match/high match)
Lehigh (Match)
Bucknell (Match)
Colgate (Match/Low Match)
SUNY Binghamton (safety)
SUNY Geneseo (safety)

You have a chance at UPenn, especially with ED, but your scores are going to hurt you a bit. What is your GPA?

Northwestern low reach
Cornell low/mid reach
Wash. U in St. Louis high match/low reach
University of Rochester low match
Carnegie Mellon (biology major) low reach
Lehigh match
Bucknell match
Colgate match
SUNY Binghamton safety
SUNY Geneseo safety

chancing back
Low reach at Upenn, try to increase your sat score if you can to improve your chance.
good luck!

thanks everyone

bump…
