Thanks, and they’re real; what’s the point in lying. And of course I didnt do them all at the same time, that would be impossoble. They’re spread out, which makes it possible.

If your app is vaporware - I’m not saying you shouldn’t list it, but maybe don’t make it the first thing. Where did you get the $138k figure from?

Should be ‘venture capital firm’, I think.

In other words, you do not have sponsorship from Google, State Farm, Macy’s or Ludacris.

Why do you have a yacht party? How many celebrity yacht parties have you had? Did your contestants actually get funding for their ideas? How many of them? Did the yacht parties take away money that could have gone into venture funding? You don’t have to answer this all here, but adcoms are going to wonder about it.

Grossed sounds a little concerning. Because then I wonder about the net. And who did you gross it from? Teenage investors? That concerns me! Do you mean $65k in assets under management? That would be pretty impressive. Or was it $65k in returns before taxes etc.? On what kind of principal? Again, don’t have to answer these here, but adcoms will wonder.

I didn’t ask you to validate my ECs, I asked you to chance me assuming that they are legit, which they are. Thanks for wasting your own time. Also, it is venture “capitalist” firm, not capital, and I’m not going to put down the names of the companies, people, or whatever who evaluated my application, and I didn’t have enough space in the common app, considering their word limit, to describe everything.

Both very high reaches, with the app as-is. Your stats are on the low end of admittees, so it comes down to ECs. I believe those first three ECs are legit, but I feel like the way you describe them is more about making them sound impressive than conveying useful information. I know a little about Harvard adcoms and I’m reasonably sure they will feel the same way. Cleaning up that section, if there’s time, could improve your chances to just regular reach.

what would you recommend I change?

PM’ed you.

Either Thorn and CiaoRagazzi are ■■■■■■, or the same person or they have a very creepy, co-dependent relationship.
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1564926-chance-2-7-gpa-w-amazing-ecs-ivys.html

Whichever is the case, I really hope you are a ■■■■■, and not an actual student applying for admission. You have put so much identifying information on here that admissions officers (who do read these threads, by the way) will be unimpressed with your approach here (fabricating stats, posting under different accounts, lying about being “business partners”, etc.) When your app comes through, I’m pretty sure they’ll remember. Honesty is pretty important to colleges. Leaving out information for the sake of preserving some privacy is smart. What you have have done here, unfortunately, is not the same thing. Good luck to you. And I really hope you will heed our advice to put serious effort into finding schools that are a good fit for you.

lmao at this argument.

I guess they could be partners, but since CiaoRagazzi was the first person to respond to the other thread (and made some odd clarifications/questions/overall seemed really interested in it) it probably is just one guy under two accounts trolling. And to clarify, it’s venture capital firm, not venture capitalist firm, and that kind of error and vehement defense of it doesn’t exactly lend to your credibility (not to mention that a true venture capital firm usually has much more capital than 100-ish grand, and the bit about the yacht party is kind of overselling it). Venture capital refers to the money itself, venture capitalist is the occupation. For example, you say law firm, not lawyer firm.

If you somehow are legit (or for anyone reading this who has EC’s that outshine academics), then just make sure not to come off as self-righteous (for example your essay topic could come across as trying to be heroic or something).

Even if they are all true… I co-founded Pinterest, have a 4.0 GPA, 2400 SAT in one sitting, Iam a professional soccer player in Brazil and I am Bill Gates’ BFF.

You lose.

Ok, and I’m not putting venture capital firm down, im just calling it that to generalize what we do. Also, why do you all care so much about the validity of my ecs…I said that my friend and I are partners, thats all you need to know. We’re not duplicate accounts, as you get banned for that, and why would I even waste my time posting two different random stats? And in regards to my essay, ive showed it to a buch of people and everyone really loves it…i think it humanizes my application that so many of you find hard to fathom…everyone needs to stop assuming things and questioning things and just chance me. Thats all I want to know.

Well you do know that they are reaches for everyone right? So why would it be different for you?

The thing about the essay was just a suggestion. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing to write about, I just meant to make sure that you’re careful with the tone of the essay. You want to make sure you come across as a generous person who’s willing to work/make sacrifices for family, not someone who relishes in their own ability to do so while in high school. But if other people have liked your essay, than that’s probably what it does.

And that tone humble tone should carry over to your EC’s. Describing your investment EC’s as venture capitalism might be pushing it, just make sure you present your EC’s in an informative realistic way. It is somewhat nitpicky, but you have great EC’s. Just make sure adcom’s will be affected by them the right way.

I’d say at this point that UPenn Wharton and Harvard would be reaches on account of your SAT I (especially since many schools weight CR+M higher than W) and your relatively lax pre-senior year course load (though your weighted GPA is pretty high, did you take honors courses or something similar or is this your expected GPA by the end of senior year?). At any rate, getting CR and M up to the mid 700’s would help your application a lot.

Yeah all my classes were honors up until junior year. And yeah I will try to come across as humble, and like I said, I not calling it venture w.e. on my application. Im just calling it that on here because its the closest thing to what it is, that you would know of. And regarding chancing me, like you said, theyre all reaches, but I would like to know the relative chance I have compared to other applicants.

You should apply to Wharton’s M&T program

I was thinking about that, but they accept so few. I dont think my SAT is high enough.
